Our elders are our treasures. It is a common saying that pays tribute to the role they played in bringing prosperity to Hong Kong during their heyday. In the spirit of the Christmas season, Prof. T. J. Wong, Dean of the CUHK Business School, is inviting volunteers to join him in sending out our love to the community.

You can help make this an unforgettable holiday season for seniors at the Buddhist Po Ching Home for the Aged Women. They are veterans of life with innocent smiles that give voice to their youthful hearts. Let's take the opportunity this Christmas to let action back our words, and give our treasured seniors something special to smile about.

Introduction of the Venue
Buddhist Po Ching Home for the Aged Women ("BPCH" ─ is a service outpost of The Heung Hoi Ching Kok Lin Association. It was established in 1966 with the aim of providing the aged with a peaceful place of residence during their twilight years. In 1992, with financial support from the Social Welfare Department and Dr. Li Ka Shing (upon the wish of Li Chong Yuet Ming, his wife), BPCH underwent expansion and renovation works beginning in 1995, which were finally completed in 1999. In line with the Social Welfare Department's policy of services for the elderly in 2008, BPCH has become a long-term nursing home, and expects to offer 270 places of long-term care in the coming years.
